Frankenstein

Hi all
Today i am posting a piece that I created for a Halloween show last year called creepy cruisers. The premise was simple, create a "scary" scene and place it on a skate deck. So I racked my brain and I settled on the one monster that I am very fond of and it was  Frankenstein. At first I wanted to show a scene where Frankenstein was on top and there was a road leading down to the village where a mob had gathered but as I kept drawing, it became simpler and simpler until it was a waist up image of Frankenstein facing the first of the villagers. This piece was done in acrylic.  My piece is titled Misunderstood. the first piece is how it looks on the wall. next its finished and varnished, and the rest are the breakdown to how i started off. Enjoy. :) ( ill try to retake a better one)

IF storm

God it's been awhile. This is a promise I made to myself that I'm trying to finally fulfill (not dealing with this piece).
So this project that I did was inspired by Illustration Friday. The subject this week was "Storm", and this is what I came up with. I imagined a bully cloud just wreaking havoc on a city and always pushing away the sun.

Hello All

So I have finally forced myself to get back on this thing (damn me and my procrastinating ways!) Not that I didn't want to but I was just being super lazy plus I didn't really have much to show, plus I didn't really scan stuff blah blah blah. So I have decided to get my butt moving and actually have some real internet presence. I know most of the stuff that I will probably post wont look that good but it'll get me active which is what I really need. I wont post anything new as of this post cause this is the stepping stone to actually posting stuff. I just sat myself in front of a computer, cracked my fingers, and told myself 'lets do this'. I will end up probably posting a lot of work from the past year. I will try to keep them in chronological order but that probably not gonna happen. I wonder if I can finagle the order of the post after the fact? I guess I will just have to find out as I go along.

Kids Are Fun To Draw

Like the title states, kids are fun to draw. I dunno its just something about them that's just funny, awesome, and cute at the same time. So when I was at work (I teach art to third graders) I drew this little kid named Frank who is in second grade. Let me explain before you start thinking ill. the school that I teach at goes from pre-k to 8th grade every two to three weeks three kids from each grade meet up together with one teacher and its called a "family". And frank just happened to be in my family. So I drew him while they were working on a poster for the school. Frank is an awesome and cool kid and wish nothing but the best for him.
